Thing with VY is what he could have been with aggression, intensity and better hallhandling. What does everyone picture when you think about him? I think about a 12 foot pullup from the baseline.
He should never shoot more 3s in a game than he does 2s. Dont care how long the other team is. Washington was long and athletic too and he had one of his best games against them. He has the get up to shoot over people.
It's ok to like VY, but also remember he was a 5*. He was an 11 pt career scorer. Learning to shoot the 3 and handle the ball at 6'7 are things he needed to be able to do. JP Prince probably hit more 3s with that crazy release.
VY couldn’t help the # stars Rivals gave him. He seemed to work hard and play hard the whole time he was here (from my teenage perspective anyway.)
I obviously didn't know or remember him hitting that many. Scrolling down below is where I saw 11 pt avg for career, even though the first number listed says differently. Nm, was reading attempts... Felt he coulda dominated had he developed in a couple areas. Surprised you guys think he maxed his talent here. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/vincent-yarbrough-1.html
11 FGA per game. 13.7 ppg. Idk if he maxed his talent. Just said he had a good career. lol, you said JP Prince hit more 3s
My favorite VY memory was seeing him at cool beans one night after his rookie (and only) NBA season and subtly reminding him Kobe dropped 50 on him that season.
