2022 conference schedule announced. Trips to Oxford, Nashville, Starkville, and Gainesville is going to be a challenge. https://utsports.com/news/2021/9/15/vols-baseball-conference-schedule-announced.aspx
Our road schedule is absolutely brutal. We will have to defend home field at a high level to get back to the NCAAT this year.
thought i read he was making a fulltime switch and figured he'd only do that if they would try to make him starter. I guess he could DH and be a backup.
Last interview I heard with Tony was on Bozollio’s show and he said they were still working guys there. But that was a couple weeks ago so things could have changed, especially with practice having started.
Here’s the main thing I found. https://www.rockytopinsider.com/2021/10/01/evan-russell-all-in-at-catcher/
"Tennessee appeared to have some of its catcher questions figured out in July when West Virginia transfer Matt McCormick committed to Tennessee. McCormick is no longer with the Vols program after deciding to take a step back from the game of baseball."
I’d like to see Charlie Taylor step forward and get some playing time behind the dish. He’s a friend of some family we have down in ATL and by all accounts is a really good kid. It’s gonna he a lot to ask a redshirt freshman to start in the SEC but hopefully he can play some weekday competition.
On paper we should win all of our SEC home series. Probably won't, but we should. If we can manage to finish 6th or better in the SEC we will be set up nicely for another post season run.
