No, Martin didn’t have the fortune of inheriting a program built by Bill Self with one of the best players in the NBA on it
Huggins got Jacob Pullen, Michael Beasley and Bill Walker there in his one season. It was his talent Martin rode early on.
I’m aware, but by the time Martin made the Elite Eight three years later, they had one player left from Huggy Bear and no one close to as good as Deron Williams
I pointed to three years of Self and a perennial NBA All-Star, you responded with one class and one player not in the same universe of talent. You’re right, anyone who sees through that genius-level take is “too stupid” and not the guy comparing Martin to Bruce Weber
Both Walker and Weber are pretty average coaches. Weber did a solid job at Southern Illinois, but Illinois fell off the map after Self’s recruits moved on. His time at KSt was rather unremarkable. Martin made it past the second round twice in fifteen years as a Head Coach.
There's no substance to figure out, it's you saying Martin is a bad coach and that deep tourney runs don't prove otherwise then crowing about what an expert-level brilliant argument you made
Which is what I was saying all along. If Martin is such a good HC he will land a good HC job again. Haven't really seen his name mentioned yet.
Lol nitpicking semantics, always a winner. Let me amend to say your argument is “he’s a bad head coach” + crowing, and that waste of time tangent is now all worth it
Lol “You have no argument, you’re just saying he’s a bad coach then fellating yourself” “I said he’s a bad HEAD coach” “Ok? That doesn’t address anything” “It’s over.” Have it your way
