If the leagues stay and there are 120 teams in Div1 football, 16 teams would hardly be bloated. The lower divisions all have 24-36 teams in their playoffs.

If we go to a 40 team league, yeah, 16 teams would be a lot.

 

I'm not convinced at this point the expansion aren't just being used as on ramps to go back to ESPN to shake more money out of them. If the playoff numbers are good this year they probably be able to extract more money from ESPN than just scaling the existing number for 2 more teams. Not going to 16 gives them another chance to do it all again.

 

Don't encourage them.

 

By the time we play those final playoff games, teams won’t be the same due to injuries.

 

The crowds will be dwindling as well imo

 

This is why the NFL is looking to ditch the playoffs and go to a BCS formula to determine the Super Bowl.

 

Only reason I'll say he might have a point is three neutral site games. Probably not, but I could see a point it diminishes. Wish they would do first two rounds on campus.

 

They would have to have home games. I don't see how you do this at neutral sites.

It would prevent sign stealing. The only reason it's not been passed in prior years is the small schools vote against it.

 

If it will keep us from having to use those giant drapes on the sidelines, then all the better.
