Neither Hurley or Oats were ever going so I had no worries there. This a 5-10 hire at best. I'm happy.
He’s a good coach, but that’s what you come up with less than 72 hours after Cal bails? They better get NIL cranked up.
A quick glance at what he's done at BYU, and this looks like it would be a terrible hire. His best post run was to the NIT quarterfinals. He did lose to a double digit seed in the first round of the NCAA tournament both times he made it, so I understand why he was on Kentucky's radar.
“When pastor Scott said no Mitch couldn’t handle it. When the lady you always planned to take to prom won’t go with you, sometimes u just have to settle for taking your cousin and hoping your classmates don’t know.”
They've become self aware. https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/absolute-worst-fan-base-anywhere.412981/
This was nice. Like even after the Rothstein tweet they were still talking about having a chance with Hurley because that plane was still in New York. And the fact that most of them were disgusted with hiring Scott Drew and celebrated when he turned them down. And then they agreed that just because Pope was a candidate didn’t mean he was actually being considered. Really reminiscent of some of our absolutely awful football searches. Just perfect. Everything tied up neatly with a bow.
