Has anyone in the local media point-blank and on camera asked Jones to explain Hurd's glaring absence during the second half of the UGA game? Not - "Was Jalen Hurd hurt in Saturday's game?" and not "Will Hurd be ready to play on Saturday, band at full speed?" If so, what did he say? If not, why do you think that is? Because that is THE question.
Heres my conspiracy. Hurd got his bell rung and continued to play. Post game he was showing some symptoms. Instead of saying "we missed it", they call it a "lower extremity" injury and he is questionable this week.
I don't think that was gonna happen again regardless. I think he got concussed in the 3rd quarter from most counts.
I didn't see him take a shot to the noodle at all. I did see Dobbs take one though that I swear was the very definition of targeting. Danielson was saying, "Well, you can't blame them for hitting him..."
So why did he sit and then go in in the final ko return? And that's not even counting him celebrating postgame.
I called it a conspiracy. Maybe the symptoms or the obvious ones didnt come out til post game? Maybe Jones knew he had his bell rung but didnt think it was enough to sit him and now hes covering? Having had one the signs are not always immediate and some dont come on til days later.
