Not postponed, but cancelled. This means that game #2 for them is UT. There were a few players suspended for two games. Does that change now or will they miss us? Additionally, not having a confidence builder for the offense after that absolute beat down in Ann Arbor can't be good for them.
I'm glad that suspension thing bit them in the ass, for once. They always do the two game suspension deal and then have them back for the UT game.
Suspensions about to be suspended. If Spurrier was still there, I'd bet a paycheck on it. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Should have went up to Greeley and played them there. It drives home how absurd college football can be, to the U of F is playing that tiny, smelly school in Greeley. Not hating on them, I borrowed equipment from their lab twice. The town just literally smells of feed lots.
Works quite well actually. Power 5 teams plays FCS school, pays them a lot of money which funds a large portion of athletic department for that year. FCS school plays D2 school and does same. D2 plays D3/NAIA school and does same. The amounts gets smaller as you go down the chain, but it's basically the reason college football exists outside of the Power 5 plus a couple of other conferences in 2017.
These schools still lose money on the sport, though. In reality, they should be reorganizing leagues for less travel or dropping the sport.
Most D2 and 3 schools are relatively still close together. Some are spread out, but a most are still relatively close knit. A lot of FBS programs lose money too. This isn't about making a profit, it's simply to keep football going.
In their worst of times, they play one of their best games of the year against the Vols. Even if a key player will be suspended shortly thereafter. Don't tell me we will win because they suck. History says they won't against the Vols. The key is we can't suck.
