I'll be shocked if nashville isn't a host city. It's an "it"city people want to visit now. More than atlanta.
Atlanta will get a spot, though, perhaps even a semi-final. They have the brand new stadium and are killing it with attendance for their MLS club. Nashville needs to see cities like Baltimore, K.C., Denver, Boston, Houston and one other bumped.
You can go ahead and say it will be either DC or Baltimore, but I doubt both would get a site. But this is CONCACAF and FIFA we are talking about.
Atlanta is a lock, along with NY, LA, and Dallas. Boston, DC, San Fran, and Philly are in good shape to host. Most people think fifa will definitely choose a Florida site, either Miami or Orlando. That leaves one spot, as it’s expected that the US will have ten host cities. So Nashville will be up against Seattle, KC, Houston, and Denver. Cincinnati and Baltimore probably aren’t realistic options.
I'd like to decide based on who makes the final. And let any incorporated city with a soccer field be eligible
48 teams = 48 contiguous states That would actually be cool to have a second team to pull for to bring the final to your state. Obviously the logistics would never work and at least 2/3 of the states would be disasters.
I don't think Nashville will make the cut. It may be a growing city, but outside of America only musicians and entertainers really know anything about it. Atlanta has already proven it's a soccer crazy town. Miami will be the other city for sure, and I'd bet they are the Final city as it has the best time slot. If not Miami then LA with that gorgeous new stadium.
