His mom will be thrilled. She said she about had a heart attack when he brought home his meal program after the spring semester last year.
Random question about scholarships I thought I'd just throw in here. Suppose we have a guy that starts as a freshman, and continues to play all the way through his senior year. Uses up all his eligibility in four years. However, he's not really a good pro prospect and he's in the school of engineering, working on a five year degree. Does he get to have another year covered or is he on his own? This is not related to some specific example, it just sort of randomly occurred to me that it could be a rare conundrum.
Yep. As a Vietnam vet, I got 48 months GI bill, so I had to get it done in 4 years going full time under the old quarter system I got my BSEE in 48 months including summer sessions and worked 30 hrs/week part time. Having a family tends to make one focused.
Took me 4 yrs to get an engr degree in the dark ages. Don't believe that's changed. If they still have an engr co-op program, it would take 5 yrs.
Hmm. Had a buddy do one of the engineering programs and the only reason he got done in four was because he had like 50 hours of AP credit from high school.
kp, I think you are correct and assume it's because your friend's high school did not offer all of the math and science pre-reqs. ie, had buddies back then that [itch bay]ed about having to take trig, etc before calculus. not to beat a dead horse, but you got me to wondering so I checked today's curriculum. Regular engr (with all pre-reqs) - 4 yrs, special BS/MS program - 5 yrs, BS+coop program - 5 yrs. since you brought this up, I have only one memory - Damn I'm glad I don't have to do that again
Hmmm. We both went to one of the best public schools in the state. I’d be surprised if the proper prereqs weren’t available.
