My checklist for 19-20 is pretty much: 1) Make the tournament during your rebuilding year. 2) Sign 4 really good prospects. Keon Johnson should be jumping in with Corey Walker soon. Add P.J. Hall to that group in the early signing period, and you've got a really strong core heading into 20-21.
Pons not exactly lighting the world on fire at the FIBA U20 Euro Championships. He has a total of 10 points in 5 games, although France has made it into the semifinals.
Yves Pons final stats at the FIBA U20 Euro Championships. http://www.fiba.basketball/europe/u20/2019/player/Yves-Pons In 7 games, he had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Not average, total.
If he can play lock down defense, and get you some rebounds on both ends, hes worth having in there a few minutes a game.
Again. He's a physical specimen. Put him down on the block on offense and away from the perimeter. Turn him into a physical and athletic rebounder who can also block some shots on help D, and beat his man down court on a few runouts. Or leave him in France
The book is that he’s terrible at basketball. He has no business being on Tennessee’s roster. He has no business being on ETSU’s roster, either.
The part which is concerning is he's a guy who could get away with this role last season, but this upcoming year is another story. He is sorely needed depth, at least, and should be a starter, if developed. Him getting less minutes in a tournament with lesser talent than which he'll face in the SEC is not a good omen.
