We'll see if they looked coached. Here's what I expect the starting oline to be game one: LT Morris LG Trey Smith C Brandon Kennedy RG Calbert RT Wright Carvin and Jahmir will be the swing guys, Carvin able to play all the interior spots and Johnson either OG or OT. Ryan Johnson wasn't very good last year inside, but he's still here. Tatum will be another option at OT with Niehaus inside. Akporoghene and Lampley are true freshmen, both interior guys. The two freshmen tackles aren't going to be any worse than what Tennessee had after Trey went down, it's not possible. Trey is one of the best guards in college football. Kennedy is average. Calbert is unknown, but the staff loves his physicality. That's not a bad starting five.
The big question is health. Smith could retire at any moment, Kennedy hasn't stayed healthy and Calbert suffered a knee injury as a senior in high school.
I am going to do the spreadsheet thing tonight, but collectively the line looks to be heavier than last year. An SEC sized group.
We are going to be much better at OL without momentum killer Richmond out there, and also not playing 275 lb guards.
Yes, thank you. I love cutting/pasting this stuff to another place I go to and claiming that I have "sources"!
