Just about that time. Here is an overview of position battles of interest from KNS: https://www.knoxnews.com/story/spor...trey-smith-jt-shrout-brian-maurer/1852980001/ I am unclear how much of that is opinion and wild ass guess, and how much is fact. the stuff on Gooden and the tackle position / o line doesn't match what has been said this summer...
hope we didn't go too big. I don't think we did, I think we were just small before. but man, they look big. look like UGA.
"Coaches usually go with experience over talent when the competition is close" is the exact opposite of what 99.9% of coaches do, especially at running back.
see, I heard or read somewhere that they were hoping he could make the rotation. I think this was Ubben's article in the athletic earlier this week. Looking at the guy, he sure looks ready to be the nose right now. So I wonder if ubben is just being conservative or if kns is overly bullish? edit: sorry, I am thinking of Simmons. I do worry that Gooden isn't ready to be an impact player.
I thought Gooden looked pretty big and decent last year. A full year of focus and he could be a monster. Plus he's gotta be 23 or 24
Well, right now he’s basically the only guy with meaningful snaps on the DL. IIRC he actually had a decent amount of TFLs for his amount of PT.
watched Jim Chaney interview. I could listen to him quite often. Said his biggest concern from JG is him learning protection adjustments so he can protect himself
I'm guessing we were literally drawing plays on the back of our hands 2 years ago. Ok, you run out this way, you go to the sideline and hide by the trashcan, and I'll hide the ball under my jersey and run the other way.
I love this quote - “As a play-caller, you can be right about 60 percent of the time, but somebody’s gotta get you right that other 40 or you’re living in a bad situation,” Chaney said. “The expectation for him is to get me out of my horrible calls into some good calls, which I think he can do.” https://theathletic.com/1111637/201...ionship-tennessee-football/?source=dailyemail
