I genuinely have no clue as I've never seen them in a game. I'd say Shrout purely based on him having another year of experience.
If it were me, I'd do it like this: JG starts, being told a touchdown is required for him to stay in the game. if he can score, and can continue to, you pull him at half as we should be up by a few. if he fails on the first or second drive, he's done early. then, I go two drives each for the other two, back and forth and hope one distinguishes themselves.
Basilio says Pruitt doesn’t really like Shrout because he’s a Helton guy. For what that’s worth. I’ve never seen a lick of either. Impossible to say
I haven't seen Shrout, at all, but he screams A.J. Suggs, to me. Maurer seems the more prolific option. I'm still astounded they aren't considered competent enough to improve upon the complete impotence of Guaratano.
True. Perhaps more time should have been put towards hiring an OC instead of helping Saban win another championship.
With this group of receivers, give me reckless with a cannon. Would love seeing JJ and Calloway go up and snag ill-advised deep throws between multiple defenders.
I'd go with Maurer in that case. Dobbs ability to run really helped the offense and hopefully the same would be seen with Maurer even if he isn't quite the threat Dobbs was. We also need someone that can get the ball to the TE without leading him into coverage. That's obviously too much to ask from JG.
