Yeah, just from what I know about it from past, anything to disrupt that peaceful tension there now is going to be bad.
They don’t have a written constitution and do a lot based on precedent. I think it’s time they wrote a few thing down.
Personally, it seems hard for me to imagine it being as bad as before. But people who know considerably more about the issue don’t seem to see it that way.
Johnson dealt another blow today with the Supreme Court ruling against him. I'm not sure how much longer he'll last.
I find the whole suspension of the legislative body very odd. I know it is a different political system, but I cannot imagine the President suspending Congress.
The Queen suspended the House. Because she backs leaving the EU. As the British people clearly decided in a direct vote.
Johnson asking the Queen to suspend Parliament, and then having it happen, was very clearly, and unanimously, determined to be illegal by the Supreme Court in very harsh terms towards Johnson.
I understand the reasons. I am simply stating that it is odd to me that the duly elected body of the House of Commons was suspended by the will of a single person, for any reason.
she did so because she personally has decided to not get involved politically, and was responding to the request from the PM to do so. I wouldn't read anything more into it than that. as for the will of the people, if it were that simple than the 1975 vote nullifies the 2016 one. I don't know what happens from here. The next election will make it clear one way or another.
Obviously the Brits cannot govern themselves. Time to unite once again, but this time we're in charge.
That's it, get the Navy on the line and let's surround the Isles. Time to start the 21st century Anaconda Plan.
See, it’s the smart candidate who will understand that I’m always down for some good ol’ fashioned American imperialism. They don’t have to come to America, we can bring America to them.
