We really, really missed Hermon in that game.

He's out for most of the season. Who knows if he'll be in decent shape at that point. Not sure if he's got another redshirt or what.

shit. We've been such a water-logged ship for so long. Easily derailed by a couple of ill-placed injuries.

I posted a recap of the first half of the game in the blog section. Maybe worth a read.

I'm tired of watching Wagner try to run down someone from behind. It's happened in the last two games. Looks like he's an escort rather than making a serious effort to get to the guy.

He definitely gave up on a play where he had the guy around the 5. Discouraging.

Just don't think he's a football player. He has some picks and that's his career. Otherwise, the coverage and the tackling are a joke. Art Evans makes him look like Ronnie Lott, however.

I'm not worshiping the guy or anything, but I feel like he's noticeably improved over the last couple of times he played safety.

probably true, but it's certainly not saying much. Problem is, I don't see our safeties making many plays at all, and with our LB corps issues, those guys should lead in tackles by a factor of about 5.

not sure this is relevant, but wilcox's first job was under gregory (now shitcanned DC) at Cal and apparently considered gregory a mentor. gregory's philosophy for the dline was that their goal was to occupy the oline so that the lbers make the play. consequently we had zero pass rush by the dline until he was fired.
