Sorry, but no team that's 6-6 deserves to be in a bowl. They have watered it down and cheapened bowls so much, its like giving out participation trophies at the end of the season
What about 6-5 in an 11 game season? Or 7-5? I agree with you, but I do think it matters one what a "bowl" means. In the distant past, it meant more than it does now.
An extra month of practice for the young guys sounds good. Also, not sure when the AJ stuff will clear up, but hopefully if he misses next week, the bowl game will give him one last opportunity to suit up.
As mentioned... The Liberty Bowl folks really want Tennessee... It's on a Monday at 1pm though... They really want that TN vs Texas/WVU/Kansas St matchup
That is what the bowls have become, participation trophies. In 1980 there were 15 bowls. Today, there are 39 bowls named after after chain stores with half-empty lower level seats.
The extra practice would be a benefit, but not much else. A meaningless matchup of bad teams which we likely lose.
I would like to play Texas so I could talk shit to my friend but their defense would destroy butch and company.
