They lost to Pitt with Pat White out. That team then went to the Fiesta Bowl and scored about 180 points against OU. They would have run Ohio State out of the Superdome.

I had not considered Strong, but he is a 2 game improvement at UofL next year from meeting both of my criteria.

 

Not sure I follow, what would the difference between UT and UM as to why he was doomed there.

He started at Richmond in 1988. He was at UVA and the Houston Texans when Clawson was the HC at Richmond. He followed Clawson after he left there.

Latrell Scott followed London as the HC for one year at Richmond, went 6-4 and resigned a couple of weeks before the 2011 season started due to a DUI.

 

Hopefully that was an occasion worth celebrating... the last time Dooley sets foot in the Tennessee locker room.
