Tennessee Volunteers: Even though Cuonzo Martin's program suffered a surprising road loss at Georgia on Saturday, the Vols have finished strong. They can beat Auburn and handle Mizzou in Knoxville in their final two games. They're ranked 49th in Ken Pomeroy's adjusted offensive efficiency ratings. Jordan McRae and Jarnell Stokes comprise one of the SEC's toughest inside-outside combinations.

The SEC is a very unpredictable league -- the past few weeks have proven as much. The Vols are capable of competing for the conference tourney title. The loss to the Bulldogs was a bad one, but Martin's program had won six in a row prior to that. They've accrued momentum in the final weeks. If they get into the Big Dance, they could be a sleeper.

Our tourney birth looks like it will come down to a pg matchup against mizzou. Will trae play aggressive and use his size and strength to go at their pg? Or will their pg penetrate easily and make us look bad. How will we play him and who will guard him.

Despite Saturday's loss, Bilas moved Tennessee from #64 to #47 in this week's updated rankings. Saying the following...

The Vols had won six in a row, including wins over Kentucky and Florida, before losing to Georgia on Saturday. Tennessee shot only 38 percent from the field against the Bulldogs, and the only standout performance was by Jordan McRae, who busted out for 35 points on 8-of-11 from 3-point range. In his past four games, McRae has averaged 29 points and 6 rebounds per game, scoring 34 points against LSU and 27 points against Florida.
