We had a mini-scare ourselves the first go round. You wouldn't believe the amount of pregnancy complication stories I have seen or heard since I have been paying attention to it.

That could be true, I may just not be in a stage of my life where I am tuned into that sort of thing.

I honestly feel that in my ciricle of friends, we were the only ones that did not have any. Biggest issue we had was wife developed gestational diabeties.

Lots of these problems are dealt with privately before any pregnancy announcement is ever made.

same here, with our first child, she was able to control it through diet, with the second she was insulin dependent. Doc told us that a third pregnancy could kill her, the child, or both. That made her decision to get a tubal ligation easy.
