Take away the last 7-8 years of irrelevance and we rank alot better.

I think Auburn's ranking is biased by their very recent success and our lack of it. I think long-term that settles out and we move back ahead of them. Good chance we move back ahead of A&M if Texas returns to their spot as the dominant program in that state.

I think Tennessee is a better job than Auburn. But, it's been 10+ years since Tennessee had the better program.

I think Tennessee right now might be a better job than Auburn. Post-Dooley, it might not have been. We have a higher baseline, but the quality of job does drop when you have to rebuild out of a smoking crater. The Alabama job was not the best in the conference in 2003. The quality of the job wasn't as low as the quality of the program, but there are other schools in good enough positions that it doesn't take much mess to knock you down a spot or two.

Tennessee should be way higher because it has such low expectations.

Alabama in '03 would have been sandwiched in between the Mississippi schools.

These rankings certainly aren't influenced by recent success. The Alabama job was toxic before Saban took it.

I still think by far the most ridiculous ranking is A&M. you'd think the 5th best job in the sec would have been ranked in the top 15 year end more than once the past 20 years.

Certainly seem that way. There's no doubt the media is infatuated with it tho.

Somebody let me know when we are voted the number one football team in the nation. I wipe my ass with coaching jobs at this point. Sorry.
