The Holly Warlick Appreciation Thread

The Tennessee legislature can't find anything more pressing than micro-managing UT.

I honestly didn't know the NCAAW was quarters, not halves.

 

Yeah, it just changed this year. I thought somebody at ESPN was on drugs the first time I noticed.

 

How long has it been since UT has been ranked outside the top 25? It's likely coming next week.

 

I'm not a hater of the LVs like some. I mean they are athletes for my favorite university/alma mater, and I coach a woman's sport. I espoused many of the same opinions of women's athletics as some here until I started coaching women. Was pleasantly surprised that they are every bit, if not more competitive, than men. Plus, there's the added bonus that they actually tend to listen to and apply what you teach them moreso than male athletes. At least in my experiences, that is.

Having said that, Holly Warlick is terrible. This team has TONS of talent, but couldn't play dead in a western. Coaching is not just about Xs & Os. You can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you can't inspire athletes to work as a team, you'll never have great success. If so, we'd just give athletes access to a computer with all the information. Warlick apparently possesses zero ability to create a team.

 

Again, I have no problem with women's athletics. I enjoy watching softball. I want UT to do well. I'm just enjoying the self-righteous Lady Vol fans getting a bucket of cold water thrown on them.

 

It's a dead giveaway of bad coaching when teams can't close out games or are unable to hold leads on a regular basis.

 

Feels like the UNC years following Dean Smith.

 

You must encounter a different breed of LV fan than I do.

 

There are a different breed entirely around Knoxville.

 

Replace her with Jimmy Dykes.

Or Sonny Dykes.

Or Spike Dykes.
