From "X" blog on Basilio site / app:

He continues to wonder who the '15 recruit may be:
    IF this is true....

Do you agree that Brooks' commitment was timed to encourage someone in the '15 class to look elsewhere?

If so, who is it that they want to "encourage" to look around? Will he get the hint? What if he doesn't?

Are they likely making room for Ryan Newsome, and if not him, then who?

Yesterday I raised the same question (in Brooks' Thread) putting a name to the '15 commit --- Kyle Oliver. However, w/ just two experienced (Ellis and Wolf) TE's, one (Ellis) which missed 2013 due to injury and that KO's an in-state recruit I think he should be safe. There are other options.

Is it Newsome? Like every other Vol fan would love to have him but I still think Texas. jmo

As for making room for talent like Newsome --- no question.

    It's dangerous to recruit a 2016 recruit to replace a 2015 recruit

I thought so, too....unless your primary (or most immediate) objective is to push someone out of the class.

The te depth isn't very good and Oliver is a project, so it makes sense but you can screw yourself too

Reminds me, I have JJ on the DVR, I need to watch it again.

On potentially pushing a recruit out to make room for a more talented one; I'm for it--provided it's all but written in ink that the more talented recruit will sign. If Newsome is as fast, athletic, and talented as they say, you have to make room. While our TE depth isn't ideal, we have more than just bodies there, as Ellis has proven serviceable, when healthy. And therein lies the rub; we're just a few injuries away from having no one at TE. If Oliver is as big of a project as reported, it might not be that big of a risk but, as JG said, pushing someone out of your current class, this close to signing day, for someone in next year's class is dangerous.

I could see it if the coaches think Creamer is going to produce but it's still risky

Couldn't we make the case that with Oliver being a project, his fate could have been somewhat sealed when the younger Wolf accepted the walk-on invite? Probably not much short term difference is there?

I appreciate that we have a staff that is so engaged and involved in maximizing our roster, as opposed to taking a passive approach.
