Checkerboard endzone, running through the T, 1985 SugarVols, 1998 Natty.

Edit: I cannot remember but he may have even put the power t on the helmet

Cedric Wilson was a nice player but ok.

Pretty sure he was referring to Gibril.

I've always been curious as to why we don't claim 1939 as an NC (the year we gave up zero points in the entire regular season before losing the Rose Bowl to USC), but do claim 1940 (when we also had an undefeated regular season but lost the bowl).

It should be assumed that if you allow zero offensive points, you're a national title winner

We have two legitimate NCs, and Fulmer was the coach of the only modern one. That doesn't mean he shouldn't have been fired in '05, but I'd have a tough time putting Jason Witten or Berry or anyone else in his stead.
I could see putting Clint Stoerner up there.

    I've wondered the same.

If we were Alabama we would also claim a Natty for 1988 for winning 5 in a row after dropping the first 6.

Sometimes I wonder if we don't elevate his Florida game a bit too much with his overall body of work here.

Probably one of the three greatest single game performances in UT history (if not greatest), but then I wonder if he was even the best player on that defense.

Maybe not best from a talent standpoint, but definitely most important.

That defense and team doesn't win jack shit without Wilson. It wasn't all about his play.

If Al Wilson doesn't break his neck, he's a borderline nfl hall of famer
