Connecticut Shootings, Christmastime, and Christianity
If you believe the gospel, the link below may help you give some meaning to an act that otherwise seems meaningless:

Disgusting. Using mass murder to push a religious dogma. Superstitious idiocy only blinds us.

No. I'm sure I must be a devil worshiper too, though. Keep imagining that spiritual warfare all around, Don Quixote.

He posted it on a Christian website.
And what is he supposed to do? Totally ignore current events?
There are loads of people that are about to exploit the hell out of this tragedy. One guy posting a blog of consolation on a Christian website is about as non-exploitive as it will get.

I'm not. Vehemently disagreeing with them isn't the same as disrespecting them. I am not physically harming anyone, damaging property, or picketing. I am expressing a completely different world view. If you find that to be disrespectful, that is your personal problem. If that is the case, how could public prayer, preaching, etc not be disrespectful to anyone not of that given faith as well?

Getting the rabble all fired up about about the "satanic" powers is disgusting. I don't care if it is written on a bathroom stall.

The boogie men had a hand in this.

At some point, a point you reached quite a long time ago, you are no better than the aggressive evangelists you've complained about.

You either don't understand some of the terms you are using, assume that we do not, or your comment about respect is bullshit.
And Satan is the ultimate representation of evil. Stating that he would have a hand in horrifically evil acts isn't exactly groundbreaking.

I understand that you don't believe that evil is supernatural. I get that. But heinous acts like this help solidify that belief for those of us that do. But calling it superstition is a tad bit of a reach.

Christian cosmology has always held that powers are at work in the world and that all evil can be attributed-either directly or indirectly-to these supernatural beings. Is it this tenet of Christianity you find disgusting in general or Moore's article in particular?

Expressing a different world view is great. But when you refer to Christian beliefs as "idiocy" and Christians as "rabble", it's hard to understand how that's not disrespectful, and that's "your problem."

Completely agree. Shameful some people have to us this tragedy for their own benefit. China and Japan don't have our problem with mass shootings. Doesn't seem the lack of following Christ has hurt those countries.

Didn't China just have a mass attack at a school last week. A guy went in and stabbed an entire class. Didn't have a gun - but seems equally evil

You're right. China's been completely devoid of mass murder for the last hundred years or so.
