I get your dig, here, and don’t argue with it. But was still happy that she offered some reasoning and addressed the error. I don’t expect them to be perfect, but to correct it when they’re aren’t.

What else are the supposed to do? Be historians and write only after the fact, or ignore official schedules?

Would "not lazy journalism'" simply be:

"Trump's schedule shows him visiting Mar A Lago."

    ?

Probably because she admitted she made a mistake.

Newsweek investigated the failures that led to the publication of the inaccurate report that President Trump spent Thanksgiving tweeting and golfing rather than visiting troops in Afghanistan. The story has been corrected and the journalist responsible has been terminated. We will continue to review our processes and, if required, take further action.

The last couple of pages were a perfect case in point. Journalist [uck fay]s up. But because it was about Trump, normally level headed people so driven by heir hatred of Trump cannot see it and come to her defense.

If you are triggered by Trump; that is a you problem and not a he problem.

Great, so when he lies about someone because he's driven by his irrational hatred of them, can we fire him, too?

What exactly was the [uck fay] up? That she injected opinion?

The [uck fay] up is that she got fired for assuming that someone who tweets and plays golf went on vacation as their schedule said, and ... probably would [uck fay]ing tweet and play golf.

The [uck fay] up is that there are so many idiots out there willing to defend anything the White House does because their head is so far up their political ass that they think everything is political.

Her only [uck fay] up was choosing to write politics. If she had wrote sports, the color commentary would be celebrated by idiots. And you.

I wish this would lead to journalists just not covering Trump, so we could get the "oh Trump is treated so unfairly by media, they are too scared to report on anything he does."

But alas, we won't. Newsweek isn't popular enough.

    Don’t guess.

That’s the bar, and she failed that.

Then that’s complete horseshit, if true.

You don’t want to compare the things that whackos on both sides have caused people to lose jobs over.

Then you are asking for a historian.

You're saying no more weather reports. No more commentary on impeachment (the outcome is unknown.) No more commentary on judicial cases (the vote is unknown.)

    This is madness.

Let's review what we know at publication, not after the fact.

Correct me when we hit something inaccurate.

    1. Person who tweets and plays golf will visit golf course for vacation.

    2. Reporter writes #1 will probably do #1.

She was fired for doing a piss poor job of her job "reporting". Something that I pointed out hours prior to her firing but was roundly criticized for by my left leaning friends who appear to be triggered by all things Trump. So much so that all objectivity is lost.

What was her piss poor job?

Holy hell, dude, if firing is the bar for piss poor jobs, the entirety of the White House staff has been shit, given that they are fired weekly.
