Ehhh...I don't know where he will go from here, but I will take his results this far into his tenure. 4 years in and he owns the east and is in the NC hunt every season. He isn't somebody I would want to run out and hire, but what he has done at UGa is pretty impressive.
The Saban era has to end soon. No telling how long Orgeron can keep things up or if Mullen can take Florida another step. He’ll be in a good situation if he can hire better coordinators and avoid a meltdown.
It’s mind-boggling that they’re about to go 40 years without a national title. With their recruiting base, resources, and lack of in-state competition, they should win 2 or 3 every decade.
Ga hasnt done shit and their fans are oblivious. They put off losing Chaney as nothing. UF was the only decent team they had to play to win the East since Fantastic Sam's spokesman took over.
Wtf? How many programs do you think should win 2-3 every decade? I can probably come up with 12-15 just as well positioned as uga, so if they awarded 45 every decade, I'd agree with you. It's easy to point fingers at a guy who gets beat in the championship game a few times, and it's pretty easy to forget that he's the mother[uck fay]er that keeps putting them in the championship game. And while nobody really loves getting beat by #1, beating out everybody else for a chance to play them for something that matters is something very few people seem to manage to be able to do.
keep in mind I didn’t say they sucked. This goes back to Richt. They have talent every year and yet not much to show for it. Sure their record is better but we didn’t have the recruiting and high expectations. Something seems off. Not just Smart or maybe not him at all.
Agree with cotton. It’s hard as hell to win a NC. It’s also hard as hell to go undefeated. How many coaches have either on their resume? Not many.
