He’s a top ten coach in the country. Who else are they going to get that’s better, Dave Aranda? Bill O’Brien?
This is the curse of major college football. No one is good enough. No one can measure up. Expectations for everyone is that everyone should win or compete for the national title every year. And that isn't possible. The 10th best result in any given year is a fireable performance if it happens a few years in a row, because they are going to be at a major program and not making the playoffs despite being ranked year and year out. It's all about trajectory, and there is a clear ceiling one can't stay at. Saban has done as well as anyone ever has for as long as anyone ever has, and they will turn on him if he loses to UGA and fails to make the playoff next year as well. Watch.
If you can't win it all at a place that will cover up rape and homicide for you and your team...well, something's wrong.
I think he’s a pretty damn good football coach, but yeah, I prefer guys who are responsible for as few deaths as possible
It's crazy. With Ed O out at LSU there are only 4 active head coaches with a national championship and one of those is Mack Brown who won his over 15 years ago. Look at Harbaugh. He delivered multiple ten win seasons, a few NY6 bowls, and he caught constant heat because he couldn't beat a program that has arguably been the 3rd best overall in the country during his time there.
I don’t think Kelly works with Cajun coon ass rednecks. He’s made his career up north and is about to get a culture shock
