Well, this is fun. No power. Not looking like we'll get any anytime soon.

7" in Powell. This is the most snow I've seen in a long time.

Remotely attending a climate change thing. Latest modeling indicates marginally less frequent but more severe hurricanes going forward, and it seems extreme rain and drought events are greatly influenced by human-induced climate warming. These are the kinds of things that are really important to communicate but are also really hard to communicate because they seem contradictory but are not.

You just want my tax money, admit it. Was that covered in the seminar?

It can't be real, it snowed in March!

Seriously, I have no scientific information and only took Liam Tran for two geography classes, but it seems that the seasons are shifting. It doesn't get cold until January, it doesn't warm up fully until late May. Fall and Spring are nearly non existent now.

Am I crazy or can that be modeled?

In biology they have term for the relationship between climate and seasonal timing and biological functions called phenology, and it doesn't have to be modeled because it is being observed as being out of whack like crazy. No models necessary, it is here. Middle Tennessee and Alabama are way more flood prone and tornado prone than they were when you and I were kids. More snow AND hotter temperatures. More swings.

More rain? Sounds like it good for my lawn. Bring it.

Yeah, in the last 10 years I have been hit by a tornado, entirely too close to like 3 other tornados, and had more snow and ice than I had seen in the 20 years prior

Kid's school is closing early today due to thunderstorms and tornadoes. So I guess we're in for a ride today.

Luckily MLGW will take two weeks to restore all power.
