If the stadium is so small and such a boost to hitting homeruns, how come Tennessee has the lowest ERA? I just did a baseball stat thing for the first time in my life. But I think my point is cogent.
I just went through our stats this season. We hit 42 HRs in 15 conference home games, 26 HRs in 15 conference road games (7 of which came in the series-opener in Starkville), and 4 HRs in four SEC Tournament games. I think I’m pretty convinced that LNS inflates our HR totals. But if that’s the case, (1) the fact that we only lost four games away from home all season indicates that we can win without just jacking bombs all game, and (2) it makes our pitching numbers look even more impressive.
LNS Lf 320 C 390 R 320 Ole miss Lf 330 C 390 R 330 Miss st Lf 330 C 390 R 326 As far as I am concerned a ball 12- 15 ft. in the air at any of LNS fences will be a HR at the other 2 listed.
