You can get 5 if he's somewhat efficient. I base my guide on a 15-17 pitch per inning average. Will be interesting to see how long he can go. And if you use him, start him. Don't go to the bullpen.
I'm speculating but I think pitchers should go back to 3 days rest. The long rest isn't helping with injuries that I can see. Yeah I know the max intensity is why it is happening, but I haven't seen the evidence that 4th day of rest is helping. Most people who train can do max intensity twice a week.
Everyone throwing 98 mph sliders and 104 mph fastballs and torquing the ever loving shit out of their shoulders and elbows is the culprit.
Probably for the best for him. Only got a year left and he's probably good enough to go to a smaller school and get more than just spot work out of the pen.
