Abbreviated version - 1 That’s the worst team I’ve seen play in Neyland in a while. I have no idea how they’ve had as many 1 TD games as they have against decent teams. 2 Joe may finally starting to figure this out. We’ll see. 3 Nico is gonna be something to behold in a couple of years. Most raw ability at QB here since manning. 4 It’s amazing how much better the defense looks when we don’t just rush 4 sit in zone. 5 Credit where due - Rutgers fumblerooski was beautiful. Bonus - Glad to see one Tennessee team can beat UConn.
Austin Peay would probably beat UConn. That was terrible. Unless he just desperately needs the salary UConn gives him, I don’t know why Jim Mora Jr. is even bothering with trying to create a legitimate D1 football program there. Go be a coordinator or position coach in the NFL if you just want to coach your whole life As for us no key injuries, a thousand defensive TDs, and playing well enough to get a healthy portion of Nico time made the day a success overall. You could tell Nico was a tad nervous at first today, but he’s gonna be fun to watch compete these next few years once he gets another college off season program under his belt
Nico’s feel for the game is visibly different than Milton’s. And that’s not a criticism of Milton. Some guys just have a sixth sense, and Nico appears to be one of them. There’s a fluidity in the pocket, like he has eyes on the side of his head. We’ve never had a Heisman winner, and maybe we never will…but that dude is gonna have a shot.
I was thinking last night that Mizzou rb is pretty much why I didn’t want to play defense. Typical looking rb from HS and I didn’t want to get run over all game.
