The entire show is dedicated to the possible hiring of Jon Gruden at Tennessee.

It's easily the most comprehensive attention that anyone in the local media has paid to this story, thus far, and is well worth a listen:

Ainge was on it pretty hard this morning.

What else is there really to talk about?

    Fights in the AD office?

Says that this (Dooley) is "winding down".

Anyone catch Basilio's subliminal nudge, after asking a caller to vote on whether they want Gruden or not?

Caller: "I'm whomever would get Tennessee back to winning, and as quickly as possible."
Basilio: "Then I'll put you down as voting for Gruden." (and without a wisp of hesitation)

Everyone wants Gruden, but they quickly say, "....but if we can't get him..."

One caller just suggested Houston Nutt and another just advocated for a James Franklin hire.

I might have accidentally linked to the latest VN podcast, and will double-check it now.

    Nutt is nuts. No thanks.

Current caller just remarked that Dooley has a surprising amount of support that remains, which he has estimated from his visits to Twitter and various TN message boards.

I'll give you three guesses as to which sites he does / does not frequent.

Basilio just said, "We deserve better than what we are getting over there right now." and says that Gruden would, "light this fanbase on fire"

People have to understand that failure on this hire is not an option. We need to get crazy with the contract if necessary. This is an investment.

Tenacious D The law is of supreme importance, or no importance

Caller is now quoting the article on Sonny Dykes, where former Dooley players at LaTech praised their current coach and disparaged Dooley.

Now talking about how potential NFL QB's beg to get some time with him.

Basilio is remarking that he would like to see Gruden's first two recruiting classes, estimating that they would be, "unnn-bee-leeeve-able"

  16. Tenacious D

Tenacious D The law is of supreme importance, or no importance

Basilio is claiming that people behind the scenes have told him several times that Cheney has wanted to bench Bray for awhile, but unsurprisingly, Dooley overrode the call.

  17. Tenacious D

Tenacious D The law is of supreme importance, or no importance

Caller listing second runners-up to Gruden, Strong, Mullen - and then mentioned Petrino, justifying it by saying, "It's really hard for him to have any more affairs now that he's divorced."

    Epic.

James Franklin love is so confusing to me.

Caller is suggesting that we could hire Sonny Dykes, and that it would be an upgrade over Dooley. Basilio laughed (sincerely, out loud) at the thought of LATech becoming Tennessee's coaching pipeline.
