Like I have said in that other thread, I think Poole and Lane both look to break that 60 yard run instead of just hitting the crease and getting that 3-5 yards. Lane is young and has an excuse, Poole should be better imo.
The run blocking we are getting right now only gets an RB hit violently. In the backfield. O-line starts getting a push, then the backs can hit these thus far infrequent creases.
Hard to think Poole isn't violent. He sees an avenue, then avoids it in order to run directly into a defender.
Henry was one of my favorites too. I became a huge fan of Mark Ingram when he wasn't playing Tennessee because of how he ran. Even Lattimore, as good as he is, doesn't have the same style as either Henry or Ingram. It says a lot about the guy toting the rock when he hits a pile and it moves 3 yards.
Poole doesn't look scared to me, it just looks like he runs with his eyes closed. Lane is a freshman that tries to hit a big play every carry. That tends to happen and is usually coached out of the guy. Neal doesn't like contact.
What's the deal with Tom Smith? Why hasn't he seen the field at all, or even Devrin Young......can't do much worse than what we've seen so far
