Is that how he spells his name? Sounds like a loaf of bread.

I was going to post the same. He is clearly the real deal.

I'm a bit worried about Hiestand. Someone needs to light a fire under our OL's collective ass, and he is the guy who is supposed to have the match. I like his resume, but something is up. I know our guys lack the strength to blow everyone off the line. But, we should be getting a better push against the smaller lines.

How long was Hiestand with the Bears? Hasn't their offensive line sucked for... quite awhile?

I guess I'd go with Baggett based on his resume. Kinda hard to really tell how valuable any of the defensive coaches are at this point given the depth or lack thereof on that side of the ball.

At the moment, I would say Baggett. I think Peter Sirmon has potential to be a really good recruiter and coach.

Anyone know much about Lance Thompson? I never hear too much about him anymore.

On TOOS (rexvol) had posted this about Heistand:

Coach Hiestands 5 years as Bear's OLine Coach

How the Bears ranked in the NFL when Coach Hiestand was the OL coach.

    '05: 8th
    '06: 15th
    '07: 30th
    '08: 24th
    '09: 29th

Hiestand & a few other offensive coaches were fired by the Bears on Jan. 5th, 2010.

I don't think the OL was the major problem with that offense. Check out his tenure at Illinois.

What are the rankings? Rushing yards?

Hinshaw has been a nice surprise on the staff.

The Bears don't spend ANY money on offensive linemen and haven't in some while. He probably had the least talented O-line in the league.

I wouldn't be worried about Hiestand. He's doing a hell of a job, but the line is the one place you don't want young inexperienced players.

Thats just it, the Bears have not drafted for shit on the oline. This year was the first time I have seen them actually draft a quality oline player.

I said all along that he would end up doing better than most thought.

Took me a minute to find it, but it is regular season rushing yards.

I think Chaney is the most valuable, and I don't think this is even a close call.

I agree he's the most valuable, but Baggett is really important too.
