Finally. Someone who holds earring wearing in the same light as drugs, stealing, and guns.

Cutcliffe told Ainge to take his earrings out or go back to Oregon when he was re-hired

Texas athletes are coddled. This will either work out great or will blow up in Strong's face

The fact those things apparently haven't been the norm explains why Texsucks is in shambles.

I'm wondering why the buying out of leases isn't an extra benefit.

Seems like one could abuse the hell out of it if it weren't.

The position coaches don't want to run.

Since it's Texas, I'm tempted to call Indianapolis and ask the question.

If the university is already providing them with the housing allowance and now forcing them to move back on campus, wouldn't they have to buy out the leases?

So? In that scenario, the players are getting paid twice for housing.

If I rented apartments to Texas football players, their lease just tripled. I'm sure they'd agree to sign it if they got a few hundred dollars in return.

I don't know how the housing allowance works - but what if the players never see the money and the lease is worked out and paid by the university to begin with.. Like they aren't given the money and told go rent an apartment... But rather Texas has some agreement worked out with the complex.

So? Buyout plus new room cost is double paying, regardless whose name is on that lease.

Lot of room for kickbacks too.

Meh - players aren't benefitting from it or seeing any money. Seems like a stupid thing to get in trouble for if it's against the rules due to the fact they go back to shitty dorm living and don't see any money.

So? Player doesn't benefit when they buy mom a car either.

What I originally posted was pretty stupid on my part. They actually do benefit, because players get to pocket whatever is left over from their housing allowance. So, if the school is buying them out of their leases, that's money that the players don't have to pay and can pocket.
