    Apparently Saban honored a scholly to a kid who suffered a career ending injury....similar story.

    Yeah, as much meat grinder shit these schools get, they can also be generous.

    The twist with that is the kid never suffered a career ending injury, Saban just needed room to sign another 5 star

    i'm pretty sure medical retirements don't count against the scholarship limit. not trying to rain on the parade. . .

    They do not. It's still pretty cool to see Sumlin keep the guy around the program and make sure he's not paying for school.

    I guess Saban is a good guy too. According to the bammers, when the scrubs wash out medically there, they get to continue their education for free.

    Lou Holtz is the only coach I've heard about not honoring schollys in this type of situation.
