Reports are saying that Malzahn will be leaving Auburn after the Iron Bowl and will take the HC position at UNC.
Win 7 games a year at UNC, you're deemed "good enough". Win 7 games a year at Ole Miss and they're still wondering why they had to desegregate college athletics.
Other than the fact that UNC wildly overestimates how good their football program can be, why do you think he would fail?
He's not a very good recruiter, he's got the personality of a rock and his offense, when not having either an elite talent at QB or playing in a junk conference, sucks. He's a high school coach that got a D-1 gig because he was sticking it to Malzahn's mom. Nutt canned him because he tried to weasel his way into the HC spot. He had success at Tulsa because he had Tebow-lite at QB. He then rode Superman's cape to a NC.
Fair enough, though he has done pretty good for a guy who rode Mitch Mustain's coattails to a job. And the ACC is kind of a junk conference if you think about it.
The ACC does suck but Miami and FSU will always have ridiculous athletes on the defensive side of the ball regardless of where they are at as a program. That kind of speed on D + a non-athletic QB = Auburn's 97th ranked O this season
A lot of defensive talent that has either been ruled ineligible or is about to graduate. The offensive talent isn't anything special.
