Pretty impressive with all the freshmen starting/seeing playing time.

16th in total defense, 4th in the SEC. Pretty impressive so far. If we finish strong then I think the defensive staff has took a great step in proving they can succeed here. AJ will be a big loss next year but we pretty much return everybody else and get two absolute stud freshmen on the Dline.

    Now about that offense...

    Pretty much everything.

The defense is only going to get better with the talent here getting better and the defensive linemen coming in for 2015.

I think Jancek is a mediocre dc, but there's going to be a huge amount of talent in Knoxville

What's the opponents average start position? Tards per play? Total numbers can be deceiving, haven't paid much attention lately as I've been busy as all hell

And we're #56743 in offense if you include the FCS, D-II, D-III and TSSAA 5A, 4A and 3A classifications. It's even worse if you include NAIA schools.

We usually have about 9 or 10 tards per play.

Not bad, seeing as our offensive highlight reel is set to circus music

Sutton and Barnett are game changers. Reeves-Maybin is already better than AJ.

Reeves-Maybin is a good LB that will only get better, but he's not as good as AJ right now imo.

AJ is the kind of player you don't realize how consistently good he was until he's gone.

Todd Kelly Jr is looking like a future stud too. The guy has 3 turnovers in 6 games.

Cortez McDowell is a special teams demon, much like Reeves-Maybin was last year.

Every time Weatherd is on the field, he seems to make a TFL.

He also seems to be the leader and fire starter.

2015 is going to be a pretty nasty D.

We lose AJ but IMO Maggitt moves inside and takes his place. We simply have too many good athletes at OLB.

We will miss AJ but as stated, we won't miss him as much with all the speed and talent we've added. The DL will only get better too.

Secondary will be beastly as well.

Our Defensive future looks bright. I just hope the staff does not F it up.
