Look for Chris Hall to come out of this early season slump. I won a national championship with him at Cumberland University. He is a ballplayer in every sense of the word.
He can play. Bright kid as well. But 5 strikeouts in 11 at bats doesn't help quell the notion that NAIA to SEC baseball may be to big of a jump for him. His style of play would be very good for UT if he can get going.
If anyone can make the jump, its him. Pretty uncharacteristic of him with the K's, however definitely some adjusting I'm sure.
Hall struggled tonight at the plate based off of the broadcast. Vols won 6-0. Marks, Owenby, and Lee combined for a 1-hitter. Lee came in B8 with 2 out and runners at 1st and 3rd and K'd their only batter that had a hit tonight.
Pitching rotation is jacked up right now. Kyle has no business being a weekend starter. Too inconsistent and walks the ballpark on a good day. Defense is also inconsistent and our approaches at the plate are pitiful. But... It's early. Some noise needs to be made this year or I'm going to start having some serious doubts.
4-1 win over Grand Canyon tonight. They are a good offensive club, at least to this point. Marks went 7+ with 1 Earned. Cox got the last 4 outs- 4K's.
They wasted a great start from Owenby. Bounced back and won 7-1 today. Serrano went 5 with only 2 walks.
Some of the baserunning mistakes we make, make me cringe. I know we are agressive, but it feels like we have at least 1-2 blunders a game.
