So some congressman says it and that makes it fact? How did he know? Was he... A COMMUNIST?!

Communism can't exist. I'm no fan of forced socialism but that's different.

Don't you hate it when the communists are trying to force free trade though?

He seems to have been correct from 52 years ago.

He was quoting - The Naked Communist is a 1958 book by an ex FBI agent, United States author political theorist Cleon Skousen.

President Ronald Reagan said of the book: "No one is better qualified to discuss the threat to this nation from communism. You will be alarmed, you will be informed and you'll be glad you heard him (W. Cleon Skousen)."

Therefore it must be true. (not serious)

You really don't know much of US History during that time.

To your original point; yes, it is an interesting read.

I'm not sure it's really the goals of the "communists", but more like the fears of the John Birch Society.

No one wants to wear their shoes. That'll always be the communist biggest problem.

I know plenty. This was partly witch hunt propaganda.

Witch hunt or not, did it not come to pass as it was said 52 years ago?

Which parts? I don't see much correct about it and, even the ones it supposedly got right weren't the result of surreptitious commnist activity. All the list was was either paranoid conspiracy theories or a litany list of ideas the author was against, so he assigned their motivations to communist efforts to discredit them.
