Crazy-assed flight suits. Would you do this (with proper instruction / equipment)? I would, in a heartbeat, despite the fact that I would likely die in the attempt.
Damn straight I would... I watched the below video 3-4 months ago and begged my wife to let me try it. Obviously that was a no-go.
Guys, you are watching Jeb Corliss. He is probably the best on Earth at the proximity flying game. This is not something you do after a few lessons. Even the pros die at this game. Let Jeb describe what happened to his close friend Duane Weston in 2003. There is a video here that is a bit more in detail. At 6:30 he talks about Weston's death and 'proximity flying', which is what you are watching. Skydiver Hits a Bridge - E60 Feature Wing and a Prayer
I wasn't suggesting that I would be "grinding the crack" any time soon. I know it's dangerous and takes a lot of practice but I would definitely do it if I could.
This was a big thing in Norway when I was there. No way would I do this. Uh-Uh. You ain't gonna catch me squirrel-diving.
I watched the second video again. NOPE! Weston did not say, "Jeb, you're going to get close to the bridge. Watch me, I'm gonna hit that mother[uck fay]er at a 'hunnert n' twenny'!"
IP, would you like to try this sport? I was lying about needing lots of training. A smart fellow like you could pul it off after watching the video a couple of time. I have a friend I can get with, and hook you up with a wingsuit for the day. All I ask, is that you let me film. I don't want to miss a moment of the fun.
