    Spurrier to Retire

According to Thayer Evans of SI.

I'm sure it'll be a point of discussion during his PC tomorrow, though he'll probably deny.

Anyhow, this bourbon's for the ball coach. Helluva villain, helluva career.

The way Thayer Evans put it, it sounds like he's done now.

Report is that he informed team tonight. I'm sure he'll finish the season, and will upset somebody along the way.

College football will be take a step back when Spurrier hangs up the visor.

Merged the threads. It's time to retire after putting in more work doing that than Card has in his entire career

I don't know who makes my SEC Mt. Rushmore, but Steve Spurrier is on it.

I hope he finishes the season. It would be beautiful if he used his last bit of life to beat an undefeated Clemson.

A hell of a coach that did it his way and had a personality during a time that coaches have become video cyborgs

Is Spurrier the last of the old school generation of coaches?

You could toss Beamer in there.
