Anybody else into EDM? If not, I will just have to introduce you to some stuff you will surely like. Avicii is a fast-rising newcomer. Currently the #6 top DJ according to DJ Mag. http://www.djmag.com/top100
Arty is even newer on the scene. I think he's only 21 years old. In 2010 he was the #53 top DJ. In 2011 he was #25. So he is still a little bit under the radar, but he is too good to stay that way for long. He is actually my favorite DJ in the world right now. I freakin' love this kid. His stuff is filthy. Sick. Disgusting. Rancid. I mean, just straight silly. Check it.
Before I started recently mancrushing on Arty, my favorite DJ was Sander Van Doorn. Interestingly, I first heard Arty while listening to a Sander Van Doorn podcast. I still got mad love for Sander. (#16 DJ)
Best. Video. Ever. Seriously, watch this. It's freaking awesome.
The above should work nicely as an EDM introduction for you newbies. Let me know what you think. And if you are into EDM, talk to me.
I am a man of eclectic tastes, but do you really dig this kid? These songs would kill at the local laser tag, btw.
Would Childish Gambino be considered EDM? Sounds kind of techno-y to me, and I like the stuff of his that I've heard. http://youtu.be/c7oFWYkqiKw
Love it. Di.fm is about the only online radio I listen to. Some of these are a bit too slow for me, though.
Pretty much anyone who has ever been to a football game has been introduced to a bit of EDM: Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400. For those who ever wondered...
I've never actually raved. But I have been up at 3am working on a few thousand lines of code for a project due at 8am... and nothing on this planet, save some of the better "party drugs" can keep you amped while debugging some backwards ass C++ class like hardcore trance.
Man, I simply don't get tennis. Intro sounds like Slum Dog Millionaire's theme song, though. Between me and you, though, KB, we might blow this thread up. What you think about some of Armin van Buuren's older work? And of course the old school master, Da Rude, with Feel the Beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN84To5ndw0 My last one for the night, to convert you to faster paced trance: Benny Royal - Losing My Feeling http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuFWN9ELG-o
I dig AVB's older stuff. I saw him a couple months ago in DC. DC actually has been getting some really good EDM acts, which is lovely. Will listen to the clips. My 3G is struggling at present.
This song makes my workout mix

Tiesto is kind of a big deal. I dig this one quite a bit.
I went to the Electric Zoo festival last summer in NYC. Does this qualify as a rave? Well, either way, that place was filled with more box than a [dadgum] Fed Ex warehouse. I mean, I couldn't look left or right without getting substantial movement. It's like all these college aged rebellious girls dressed up in what essentially amounts to a bikini with colorful pantyhose or high socks on the legs...and nothing more. Do a google image search on "candy raver" and you'll see what I'm talking about. I will go to electronic music festivals for the rest of my life. Here, I'll toss in one pic of some candy raver girls. You'll probably get movement. Rather, you will get movement if you have a fully functional penis.
