Seriously, the guy is just making sh!t up as he goes. His thought process must be "I'll just add the word 'Neyland' and those Tennessee fans will eat it right up." What's next, Peyton Preparedness?
If he talks like this behind closed doors to the players and coaches, I don't know how they have not gone insane already. If my boss talked like this to me every single day, day in and day out, I would flip one day, or quit.
The homefield makes it hard for the defense to call out their signals, not to mention the wave upon wave of negativity that rolls across the stadium. Nothing says "I ****ing hate you, you crap players and coaches!" like this:
Not if you are a player or a coach. It screams negativity. And you must have Neyland Focus to get past this kind of "support".
I'm not sure butch could have handled mid to late 90s if he thinks it's a bad now. It's both sad and comical.
Are our coaches or fans dumber, relative to their counterparts elsewhere? Which gap is broadest? I say coaches. Stupid fans are everywhere.
Coaches for sure. I mean I honestly picture other coaching staffs sitting in conference rooms watching Butchisms over and over laughing their asses off.
Give it a few hours and there will be a thread on VN with "Neyland Focus" in the title or referencing it and about how the team needs to prepare mentally for playing at home, specifically. It will provide a break down how playing at home provides certain disadvantages for the home team. Not saying I'm going to start it, but I'm sure one of the football gurus will take this concept of "Neyland Focus" and run with it. That's my guess anyways.
Guarantee somebody on VN is printing up hats and t shirts with Neyland Focus on it. Probably have a logo contest on VN for it.
