Good read on him - http://espn.go.com/college-football...y-sexton-college-football-power-broker-scenes
It'll never happen, but what if every crazy secret/story Sexton knows about was one day made public. Would be incredible.
I saw that today also. Good read. As busy as he is, he still makes sure to be a father to his boys. I honestly don't see how he keeps up with all the plates he has spinning at any given time.
The time/ travel investment is what gets me. I'm Sure it's a lot of feast or famine but when things are hopping it's gotta be brutal. Lucrative, but brutal. Another angle Infound fascinating was how it all really was a luck of the draw sort of thing.
I'm gone three days/two nights a week on average and it can be crazy, much less his travel schedule. The work is connecting and schmoozing, but the work is hard part.
Maintaining the position probably isn't terribly difficult. Building the book is probably damned near impossible.
I actually work really closely with Secton's ex-wife's new husband. It's funny hearing him whine about taking those boys on a fishing trip in Arkansas over the weekend after Jimmy's taken them to the Bahamas for a week on a private island.
Man, I bet Jimmy was doing backflips when she remarried. Imagine the alimony he's not having to pony up now.
The guy works hard but no one in sports is curing cancer or splitting atoms. They are well compensated entertainers. The fact that he "makes time" for his sons makes him a decent human, not a hero.
The part of the article where mentions Hamilton calling him is depressing. All those coaches were still playing, so give us somebody that's not. Christ.
