I honestly had never really gotten into the deets of that case and then watched a documentary on it just a few months ago. Dear God man. Short of a video of him doing the actual killings and then driving away in a golf cart, I can't imagine more overwhelming evidence.

    Cochran was a smooth daddy.

    This was jury nullification...

When the D.A. made OJ try on the the bloody gloves over the latex gloves he was wearing during the trial, I knew the jury would acquit him at that moment. That was all the reasonable doubt they needed.

I always heard he failed a lie detector, I assumed it was just a rumor, they showed last night it was true. So far, short of Droski, it seems like everyone in California are dipshits.

Inadmissible and the jury was to never find out out about that since they were sequestered.

Really? Shitty prosecutors, shitty judge, and an all-world defense team.

Brilliant transformation from "possible existence of racism" to "reasonable doubt despite no doubt".

I've got one word, and it ain't "Plastics", Benjamin.

    It's "MONEY".

Capital punishment. OJ had the capital therefore he didn't get the punishment.

You'd call it jury nullification if the twelve jurors collectively decided that brutal double murders aren't something that should be punished. That ain't what happened.

Partially....but as a general rule even great lawyers can't win on terrible facts. it was a bit of a perfect storm.

Also the Barry Scheck (sp?) guy that the defense had on the team as the DNA specialist apparently just dazzled on the stand...made the prosecutors look like world-class buffoons.

It didn't help that the damn trial lasted almost 5 months. Imagine being sequestered for that long, sitting in a jury box, day after day, listening to the nonsense.

That whole thing turned into Reality TV and the prosecutors and judge were just as much to blame as anyone.

yeah the jury outthought themselves. someone should have properly explained what reasonable doubt means.

people forget how liked OJ was. even my grandmother said "I can't believe that nice man on tv did those terrible things."
