I 2nd that motion. I just wonder if Butch really though Azzanni was a sure bet to leave and got caught (not wanting to actually fire him after peak hiring season) at the last minute when it didn't happen. Or, is it that he just felt "continuity" was the safer gamble for 2016. Either way, he missed on 2 big in-state WR's, one his wheelhouse (legacy). When a QB gets you a Natty, you better recognize...or it will bite you in the ass. Consider us bitten.

    Sounds possible.

On the run decisions. He kicked a fg from 4 inches.

I think it's funny how family members of top recruiting targets hate Lyle. Terms such as "PR stunt artist", "fraud" and "carnival barker" are used regularly. They must frequent this site.

Jones could fire Azzani tonight and have him replaced by any one of dozens of infinitely better coaches and recruiters by this time tomorrow.

Azzani continues to be employed at TN because that's what Butch Jones wants.

In reality, Butch is catching up with Butch.

It's why he stays at places 3 years at a time

But he's coming to the end of that rope after he landed the Tennessee job

Fortunately, his plan has culminated in the one gig where 9-wins is essentially a lifetime contract.

I think he's saying people that meet Butch think he's full of shit

You forget this is the same institution that gave Fulmer an automatic extension for an 8-win season.

Listen to any sports talk radio show in Knoxville, or take a stroll around VN and come back with your findings.

Gotta be a naive cat to believe otherwise.

That could probably be said about several coaches during recruiting.

I meant he may not have wanted Azzani fired after peak hiring season. Meaning he would stay unemployed.

Because of buyouts or doesn't want his boy not having a job? If either of these reasons, to hell with it. Especially the later.

When you hear it from teenage siblings who don't have a vested interest in Tennessee, you know he has to be full of crap.
