The 3-0 Vols welcome Big Red and the 1-2 Hilltoppers of Western KY to Lindsey-Nelson Stadium today. WKU lost two of three games over the weekend to Toledo. I'm interested to see what the Vols mid-week pitching looks like. In the final years of Delmonico and under Raleigh, the Vols struggled in mid-week games. This is one area Serrano must get this team to improve in immediately IMO. There's no excuse to ever lose these games to mid-major programs on any type of regular basis.
A co-worker of mine who played baseball for WKU says that the UT field is small and has a wicked right to left wind, but he enjoyed playing down there. Random, yes.
5-2 Vols going into top of the 6th. I'll give them this much. If they get runners into scoring position they find a way to get one of them home.
