    Is there a difference?

I shouldn't say that, ought to be proud she wants to play. Im tryin, Im just not a soccer guy.

Bad news is, my oldest (7) is in need of a coach for her team. Guess who's name keeps poppin up.

Everything I know come from a 45 min practice earlier this evening. Very instructive.

My son started when he was 4 and is 8 now. He loves it and is good enough to get bumped up to the u-11 league. He's a little small for his age, plus his foot coordination is fantastic, so soccer works great for him. It probably helps that I've really gotten into soccer in the last 5 years, too.

BTW, the commies sucked at soccer.

I think 5 year olds would learn more without adult supervision. JMO.

I played all through grade school and in college. Love the sport and always will.

At that age, just working on passes and spacing is all you need to do. Nothing complicated.

Spacing seems to be an issue. That mini soccer ball is like a magnet. That creates bad passing angles.

    Just my observation. Lol.

They are going to run around in a herd. One will be off by herself spinning in circles. The goalie will be picking dandelions.

Make sure the one spinning has good form and doesn't hurt herself.

Interesting idea. Hopefully my wife will buy it.

From todays open practice it seems we will not deploy a goalie. The one spinning in circles is my daughter.

I feel your pain. I got forced into coaching soccer this year.

Sounds like you are the man for the job then, Coach.

That team has a coach. Im being recruited/wooed to coach my oldest daughter. She will be the spinner on her team, be hard to deal with for me.

    Forced?

You have emboldened me to stand firm.

I'm getting paid for it, but the boss lady was pretty clear about letting me know that she wanted me to do it, even though I didn't want too.

I doubt there is any money on the table here. So in a sense, Im paying to get to coach.
