No need, we were very fortunate to have minimal damage

Haven t been that far north yet. Spent a weekend at Hougton Lake and had a blast. Plan on making it to Mackinac this winter.
You would appreciate this, deer season is like a religion up here. They are all over the place, i have people giving us massive amounts of deer meat in late fall.

Where are you, BC? I've got friends in Gardendale that were just a hair away from that F5.

    That's awesome.

I would like to see Mackinac in the winter time. It would be fun to drive a snowmobile across a lake

Bearcat was enjoying work being closed so he could play his video games and sleep in late, while i'm 20 minutes away climbing out of the rubble

the f5 that went thru here wasn't like the tuscaloosa f4 in that it was so tall and well defined. the f5 was black and the surrounding clouds were so low to the ground. this video of that tornado still amazes me

Last weekend I happened to catch a brief part the most overdue places for a hurricane to hit on TWC. #3 was New York. I started thinking about the media crapfest that would occur if one actually was projected to hit it solid. I'm not sure America could handle it.

This is actually setting up very badly for the east coast. Though it will likely not hit the outer banks as a cat 4, did you know we have no historical record of a cat 4 hitting above the SC/NC border? The initial landfall looks to be in the banks, but it looks like it will move all the way up them as a cat 3. But, what is even more worrisome is it's continued strength (and rain) through the most densely populous area of the country as a cat 2. The track is going to be very important to watch. Some models have it making a solid landfall in southern NC and staying more inland. That would likely be less damaging.

There are several models suggesting that westward track, but the official forecast still has the highest probability path as skirting the coast. That may just be because they haven't updated the official (cumulative) forecast....don't know.

You would think this was some end of the world shit, the way the media is playing this up. When Katrina hit, it was still a Tropical Storm with 50 mph sustained winds when it crossed over West Tennessee.
